Artistic director Emily Runkle, a proud Baltimore native, expresses her reverence for Poe's work: "Poe's view of human behavior, paired with his impeccable writing technique, created some of the most famous poems and gothic horror stories of all time. His atmospheric style is perfect for the stage, and creating ballets in tribute to him is long overdue!"
