An Evening of Script-in-Hand Readings with Wendi Rogers
Description
Wendi Rogers has devoted much of her life to literature, formerly as librarian, editor, and critic. Wendi has also written throughout the years. In 2024 Wendi, a native of Wabaunsee County who now lives in Auburn, KS, joined in Volland's Writing Wabaunsee County project, which saw county residents author original scripts to be performed at the Ruin.
Wendi continued writing plays after Writing Wabaunsee County and is ready to test them out. She needs help however, and that is where the open reading comes into play. Guests do not have to perform, and Wendi has already rallied a group of actors from Writing Wabaunsee County to help get things going, but you'll be encouraged to join in. All lines will be printed out.
Before the open reading, guests are invited to join in a light meal of Chicken Tortilla Soup, catered from El Corral. Please bring a dessert to share (Wendi mentioned pie is referenced in one of her plays by the way).
