An Evening of Reflection and Connection

On behalf of John Henshall’s family and close friends, we cordially invite members of the planning and development industry in Australia to an evening of fellowship, fun and celebration of John’s life.

This event will be held at the Panama Dining Room in John’s beloved Fitzroy on the evening of 22 May 2025.

John passed away after a short illness on 25th October 2024. This event provides the opportunity for a grateful industry to reflect on his long-term contribution to creating better cities, towns and regions. Importantly, the event will be a fitting setting for friends and colleagues from across our wonderful industry to enjoy an evening built on John’s love of a good old party, complete with blues music, laughs, tears, and stories shared over good food and drinks (including some delectable reds!). 

The evening will kick off at 6:00pm with welcome drinks ahead of some ‘industry reflections’ at 6:30pm with a panel of special guests discussing the important role that planning, economics, and good grammar, play in the creation of great places and communities. 

Following this will be a live performance by a dear friend of John's, Meghan Maike, while we all share stories and laughs over drinks and canapes.

A small cover charge ($35 per head) will help fund the event, acknowledging the significant contribution of John’s colleagues at Colliers Ethos Urban, John’s family and a coterie of close friends.
