Listen to three singer-songwriters who are making new music in the Pine State. This special evening will feature performances by Skip Bailey, Sigrid Sibley, and Sara Trunzo. All three have roots in folk and traditional music, and each one branches out in their own unique way. Hear songs that reflect the hard work, natural beauty, and close-knit communities that define life in Maine, as well as the highs, lows, heartbreaks, and breakthroughs that make us who we are.

About Skip Bailey

Award-winning songwriter Skip Bailey is a country and folk singer-songwriter from Maine whose songs reflect the grit, humor, and heart of rural life. He describes his work as “salt of the earth songs for salt of the earth folks,” a phrase that reflects his commitment to honest storytelling and connection to place. His music blends country, folk, and maritime influences into lyrical portraits of everyday people: fishermen, farmers, dreamers, and working folks who keep Maine’s traditions alive.

Performing across the state from Kittery to Lubec, Skip has earned a loyal following for his down-to-earth performances and his unique and powerful vocals. He currently holds a residency at Allagash Brewing Company and has played notable venues including Blue, The Apohadion Theater, Absolem, and Fogtown Brewing Company. His upcoming single, which won the 2025 Maine Songwriters Association’s 15th Annual Songwriting Contest, showcases his authentic voice and lyrical storytelling. Skip has also been featured on WERU’s Country and Northeastern radio show, joining the ranks of Maine’s next generation of songwriters carrying forward the region’s rich folk tradition.

About Sigrid Sibley

Sigrid Sibley is a native of Poland Spring, Maine where she was raised on a small homestead with backyard chickens, fruit trees, and a busy family garden. She began songwriting at age fourteen, finding roots in bluegrass, Americana, and traditional music. Her songs draw on common folk themes, as well as her love for nature, agriculture, and life in Maine.

As a solo artist and with her band, Sigrid performs across the state and beyond. Past performances include the Common Ground Fair in Unity, ME; the Maine Cheese Festival in Pittsfield, ME; and the Poland Spring Resort summer concert series. Sigrid studied Music Education with a focus in Composition at the University of Southern Maine. During her time at college she met and collaborated with local musicians in Southern Maine, including several who contributed to her debut album, Old Faithful Dreams, released in May 2025. 

The first single of her album, Never Knew Love, was selected as a finalist for the 2025 Maine Songwriters Association contest. Sigrid is currently a member of One Longfellow Square’s inaugural class of LEAF emerging artists fellowship. About Sara Trunzo

Sara Trunzo is an independent singer-songwriter, community organizer, and co-founder of Maine-based food security organizations: Veggies For All and Waldo County Bounty. Informed by rural living, working class values, and history of activism, Trunzo writes what Adobe and Teardrops called “political country music at its finest.” She has collaborated with Darrell Scott and Mary Gauthier; shared stages with the likes of Suzy Bogguss, Malcolm Holcombe, and Carlene Carter; played venues such as The Bluebird, Rockwood Music Hall, Club Passim, and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. She has been a Joseph A. Fiore fellow, Music to Life juried artist, and has received honors from International Acoustic Music Awards, New England Songwriting Competition, South Florida Folk Festival, Maine Songwriters Association, and other awards. She is a volunteer board member of WERU Community Radio, Documentary Songwriters, and Maine Songwriters Association. Her fourth record, Better Than I Was, came out in June 2025.
