Event description

AARON BOYD

Aaron Boyd was born & raised in Stanton, Kentucky and is residing in Irvine, Kentucky.  Aaron is a singer-songwriter that writes from a place only a few with the gift of a second chance can do.   Boyd's songwriting serves as an honest ledger of accounts that rise from the same rich patch of earth as the minerals found deep in Appalachian soil.  With his carefully crafted lyrics and timeless sound, Aaron Boyd's sophomore album "Coming Undone" will shake your soul to its foundations.

Over the past few years, Boyd has received coveted invitations to open for songwriters like John R. Miller and Arlo McKinley.  Boyd has shared bills with Lost Dog Street Band, Silverada (formerly Mike & the Moonpies), Sundy Best, Morgan Wade and has also performed at regional festival including Kickin' it On the Creek, Festival of the Red and Huntington Music & Arts Festival.  He has been featured on Red Barn Radio and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame.  Boyd has recently been out on several national tours with his sophomore album and recently toured Europe--a testament to his strengths as a performer and songwriter.

MARDE BROOKS

As MarDe Brooks' very first notes hit the air, you hear the impact of a young boy spinning his daddy's vinyl collection, you feel the echoes of the small Alabama mill town on the banks of the Chattahoochee River--and you hear his heart!

This powerhouse vocalist and rhythm guitarist wrote his first collection of songs in just under a year at his home in Valley, Alabama after spending 11 years as the frontman of the rock band Fifth Element.  During his time with Fifth Element, they opened for heavy hitters Blackberry Smoke and Drivin' and Cryin'- just to name a couple.

Brooks felt the call to write and perform his own original music and reached out to a songwriter friend in Mississippi.  He then decided to record his new songs and signed up to work with producer and engineer, Greg McGowan, at his studio, Rose City Recording in Charleston, West Virginia.

As his lyrics say, "Even if you do things the right way, you don't always get what is earned."  But sometimes--and especially in this case--MarDe Brooks will definitely get what is earned.  In fact, he just made an album that you'll be singing along with for a long time to come.
