Event description

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, Jason works as a Digital Imaging Technician and has over 20 years of experience in New Zealand's film industry. He has worked on The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogy, Avatar, Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin, and other blockbusters such as Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner 2049, and Mortal Engines.

As a specialist in DIT services, video playback technology and data management, Jason has designed custom video playback systems for Park Road Post, 3D stereo video technology applications, and has created innovative solutions for motion capture work with Weta FX. A member of the New Zealand Screen Industry Guild, Jason brings technical precision and creative problem-solving to every project, making him one of the country's most trusted professionals in digital filmmaking technology.

In this session, he will share his journey into the industry, reflect on key career highlights, and offer insights from his work with cinematographers to craft the visual language of film - from major Hollywood features to independent New Zealand films.
