Event description

We are thrilled that internationally acclaimed writer KATE GRENVILLE will be in conversation with journalist Caroline Baum. Kate will talk about the ideas that prompted her to explore her ancestry in fiction, resulting in her bestselling novel The Secret River, adapted for screen and stage.

Two decades on, in UNSETTLED, her new, very personal memoir, she revisits the Hawkesbury where her convict ancestor settled and grapples with what it means to come from people who were 'on the sharp edge of the moving blade that was colonisation.’  From there, her journey stretches far and wide, in a personal pilgrimage.

Kate will also talk about her love of Jane Austen, in this year which celebrates the 250th anniversary of her birth. Don’t miss this intimate, revealing conversation with one of Australia’s most loved  writers.

Collins Booksellers Thirroul
will have Kate's books for sale and she will be available to sign copies after the event.
