About the book:

The fractures of the Known World are deepening. Ever — the magic that sustains life — is fading faster than it can replenish, and agitation runs rampant across the lands.

After a disastrous confrontation with agents of the Ellarch, warrior princess Elva and Prince Fynton are on the run, trying to research the legacy of the danann without alerting the gods to their location. But every ally is a potential traitor when both the Ellarch and the Seacht are hunting them.

Meanwhile, Innes is contending with the first stage of the witches’ passage and her decision to leave her twinsoul, only the failing magic is hampering her progress home.

To the south, Lady Oriann is ready to die for the Ellarch’s cause. But when the man who destroyed her life resurfaces, she must ask herself which she values more: loyalty or vengeance?

With everything on the line, can Elva, Innes, and Oriann navigate shifting divisions while keeping their loved ones safe from the wrath of the gods?
