Sharpen your critical thinking, stretch your imagination and learn new skills from this diverse and talented panel with volumes of experience.
Peta Miller is a historical fiction writer who has been in the book trade for over twenty years, in both publishing and retail. When not writing, she works part-time at Berkelouw Bookstore in Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast. Peta received the Charlotte Waring Barton Award for her unpublished manuscript, Sing Us Home in 2018. The prize was a mentorship with a HarperCollins author and her manuscript became her book, The Ship's Midwife.
Ray Kerkhove’s particular expertise includes Aboriginal-settler relations; ethnohistory; cultural references/ sources; frontier wars; triangulating oral, visual, documentary, environmental and archaeological sources; religious and social histories.
Kerry Neill is a proud Kabi Kabi Traditional Owner and the Director of Triballink, a First Nations organisation committed to cultural education, storytelling, and community engagement. Kerry has written children's books and worked with his multitalented team to recently write and create Djaa, an online children’s game set in the Kabi Kabi traditional lands in the south east of Queensland. Using traditional and contemporary knowledge passed down for generations Djaa provides a world where the player can run, play, hunt, have fun and learn at the same time.
