An Introduction to Passivhaus
Event description
Passivhaus (or Passive House as it is sometimes known locally) is an accessible platform for achieving high-performance buildings. Through specific performance metrics and five key components, Passivhaus projects are low-energy, and provide comfortable and healthy indoor environments.
It is an adaptable standard, that can be applied in any climate. Developed in Germany in the 1980s, it has been well and truly tested all over the world.
This session will provide an overview of what Passivhaus is, the process for adopting the standard into a building project, and how it can be applied in a Sydney context.
With carbon emissions associated with buildings accounting for nearly 40% of emissions globally, Passivhaus is an excellent tool in the journey towards net zero.
