Designing in Change

Join us for breakfast, hear from two speakers about sustainable design, then take the opportunity to network with others across the construction sector.

This event is part of the broader Building in Change event series happening across the Otago region in early March - a collaborative approach by Otago's councils to promote sustainable building practices and reduce construction and demolition waste.

Speakers:

Lisa Burrough is the Eco Design Advisor at the Dunedin City Council - Eco design - Dunedin City Council and Home - Eco Design Advisor. 

As an Eco Design Advisor, she is able to give free independent advice for a comfortable, efficient and healthy home that is good for the environment.

Lisa is the first to have this position at the council, which she has held since 2018. Before working at the council, Lisa worked at BRANZ for 14 years, researching energy use in houses and indoor environment quality. She has a Masters in Building Science.

Kishan Seger is the Technical Director at Preformance Building Technologies, part of the Southbase Group Building Consultant | Project Management | Southbase and will join us online to talk about design principles around waste reduction.

Kishan is a chartered structural engineer and green star accredited professional. He is a champion of low carbon design that provides value for money and has advised numerous clients about pragmatic carbon reduction pathways.
