An Introduction to Visible Mending Technique - Weave Method

Event description

Do you have a much-loved jumper, beanie, or a pair of socks in need of repair?

With local creative and mending expert, Natalie Mendham, learn the art of visible mending to save precious garments from landfill. Using visible stitches, participants will learn how to repair holes in knitted garments with weave mending techniques.

Join us on this creative and sustainable journey! Some materials provided, such as colourful thread.

Participants are encouraged to bring a choice of one or two different things they’d like to repair, chunky rather than finer items are best to learn on, and if you have some embroidery thread or darning yarn you’d prefer to use, you can bring that along too.

Tea, coffee, biscuits provided, but feel free to BYO lunch. This would suit adults but teenaged children are also very welcome, either with a parent or on their own. If you have any questions not covered here, please get in touch with the Arts and Events team: 6217 9606 or events@ccc.tas.gov.au
