  • A minimum upfront payment is required to secure your order. This includes a surcharge, a non-refundable cancellation fee, and a refundable deposit.
  • You’ll receive a notification before each payment attempt. You must ensure sufficient funds are available.

Event description

The Australian Network of Art and Technology (ANAT), in partnership with the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), will host ANAT SPECTRA 2025 :: Reciprocity on Kabi Kabi Country, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Biosphere Reserve from 2 to 4 October.


ANAT SPECTRA 2025 :: Reciprocity is a three-day gathering designed to spark curiosity, foster co-creation, and inspire transformative arts practice. It brings together artists, makers, scientists, and technologists from diverse fields with a shared interest in collaboration, discovery, and meaningful connection.

Full program announced in August.  


Please note: 

  • Day 3 experiences are ticketed separately. There are two choices, please choose one. 

  • There are a limited number of early bird tickets. When the allocation is exhausted, tickets will be full price. 

Day 1 :: GATHER
Thursday 2 October, 3pm–7.30pm 

Welcome to Country with Kabi Kabi, Gubbi Gubbi Traditional Custodian Lyndon Davis and Gubbi Gubbi Dance, live performances, outdoor screen program and a reception for the Reciprocity exhibition*.

Quiet spaces will be available for retreat, reflection and rest.

Includes light refreshments. Cash bar.

*Reciprocity exhibition will run from 16 August to 25 October 2025 at UniSC Art Gallery.

Day 2 :: CONVERSE
Friday 3 October, 9am–6.45pm 

Welcome to Country with Kabi Kabi Elder Aunty Helena Gulash followed by a keynote with artist, activist and academic r e a, from the Gamilaraay / Wailwan and Biripi Peoples of New South Wales.

Throughout the day, be immersed in intimate, thematic and participatory conversations and artist activations featuring site-specific works and screenings across the campus.  

Quiet spaces will be available for retreat, reflection and rest.

Includes morning tea, lunch and evening light refreshments.

Day 3 :: EXPERIENCE
Saturday 4 October, 9am–5.30pm

Morning: 

Option One
Tallo Billa ocean experience

Board a Sunreef vessel at Mooloolaba Wharf with Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) artist Lyndon Davis for a deep listening journey: a unique performance that combines live streaming of Humpback Whale song from underwater hydrophones. 

Includes: bus (if required), boat, lunch and early-evening light refreshments.

Option Two
Maroochy Bushland experience

Explore the Biosphere of the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens led by Kids in Action guides and an artist talk featuring Kabi Kabi Elder Aunty Helena Gulash and guests. Experience the Rainforest and Arts and Ecology Centre through intergenerational activities and encounters.  

Includes: bus (if required), artist talk, lunch and early-evening light refreshments.

Afternoon:

Option One and Two:

We’ll gather at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve for lunch and rainforest experiences. Explore the Discovery Centre, then celebrate the close of ANAT SPECTRA :: Reciprocity at the Mapleton Public House.



Further Information

Booking fees
  • We have kept ticket prices as low as possible. As a not-for-profit organisation, splitting the ticket booking fees with attendees 50/50 helps us cover these additional costs.

  • Humanitix takes the booking fees and dedicates 100% of profits to charity!

Refunds

Buyers can action a self-service refund or cancellation using the 'Manage Order' button on their order confirmation email, or by requesting a refund via Contact Host up to 3 weeks prior to the ANAT SPECTRA start date.

Photo, Video & Sound Recording

Photos, videos and sound recordings will be taken during Reciprocity to document and display the event experience and may appear in ANAT and partner’s future promotional materials, social media and websites.  If you prefer not to be recorded, please make yourself known to an ANAT or UniSC team member so that we may inform our recording contractors.


Safety

ANAT and our partners’ highest priority is making sure everyone is safe at our events.

If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe at Reciprocity, please come to us with a concern, we will preserve your confidentiality and work quickly to resolve the issue.

Please contact us however you feel most comfortable; be it before, during or after the event so that we can assist you.

We have a zero tolerance for harassing behaviour. If you are alerted by ANAT or our partner that your actions constitute harassment, you are expected to stop the behaviour immediately and comply with any requests made by staff.

ANAT may sanction or expel any individual or group behaving in a way that constitutes harassment without a refund, at our discretion.

How to report an issue:

  • Find a member of the ANAT or UniSC team at the event space

  • Find an event volunteer or venue staff member who will direct you towards an ANAT or UniSC team member

Data Privacy

We are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal data when registering

  • Your data will be collected for the purpose of providing information to you about events directly related to ANAT SPECTRA 2025 :: Reciprocity. 

  • Your email address will be added to the ANAT Digest database. You may unsubscribe at any time.

  • When registering to attend events, your data will be shared with the ANAT SPECTRA organising committee as necessary for event development purposes.

  • Your data will be securely stored and used for the above purposes until you withdraw consent by unsubscribing from the mailing list or emailing your request to anat@anat.org.au
