Rooted in Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms movement practice, we will dance with our ancestry, as it lives in our hearts, soul, collective memory, and DNA. We'll reconnect with our roots and history. We'll call on the wisdom and medicine of our lineage, the power of ancestral lands and nature, and the spirit of animal clans to guide us on this journey. We will dig beneath the surface, to seek buried gifts and pearls of wisdom collected from our own life experience. Our journey will be a deep investigation into our personal relationship to the people, places, rituals, culture and traditions that have formed and informed who we are.Together, we will honour, give thanks, and embody forgiveness and healing for ourselves, our lineage and the earth. We'll celebrate by moving our bones, blood, and bodies - a direct and palpable treasures from our ancestors.

No previous dance experience is required to participate in this transformative 5Rhythms workshop.

Friday night is an open dance for the whole community with some ancestral elements and Saturday is a full day immersion exploring the heart and soul of our roots.

For those of you who attended Sylvie's workshops in Sydney and Melbourne in 2019, will attest to the deeply healing and transformational space Sylvie holds.

About Sylvie:

Sylvie Minot is the founder of Syzygy Dance Project (www.syzygydanceproject.org). Since 2000, Sylvie has taught weekly 5Rhythms® dance classes and workshops across the USA and internationally. She also brings dance to various underserved populations including inmates, veterans, at-risk youth, recovering addicts, and hospital patients. Sylvie has a BA in Dance and is a certified 5Rhythms® Teacher trained in the Heartbeat (emotional) map by Gabrielle Roth. She has studied psychology, indigenous healing rituals, energy medicine, and sound healing and is inspired by the teachings of Angeles Arrien, Carolyn Myss, and Tito La Rosa.
