Anchored in Respect: Sex & Ethics for Young People
Event description
This 2-day training prepares participants to deliver the Sex & Ethics for Young People (SEYP) program. SEYP covers evidence-based topics that address key issues young people face in diverse settings. The program uses a targeted primary prevention approach, helping participants develop their own ethical framework for relationships and sexuality while building essential skills.
A rights and strengths-based approach to young people's sexual development prioritises their autonomy, dignity, and wellbeing. Instead of focusing only on risk, it empowers them to make informed choices about their bodies and relationships.
What will you learn?
- To deliver Anchored in Consent: Sex & Ethics for Young People.
- To understand the targeted prevention approach of the program.
- To utilise the Sex & Ethics Framework for decision-making in intimate relationships, including guided exploration of boundaries.
- To encourage understanding about the diversity of values and perspectives, and support young people in understanding where they get their ideas about sexual activities.
- To support learners to understand and critically analyse the impact that representations in pornography can have on shaping individual and societal views of gender, sex, and sexuality.
