Animal Advocacy Day in Sacramento
Description
REGISTRATION HAS BEEN TURNED OFF! If you would still like to attend, please reach out to Tamara Torlakson at tt@tamaratorlakson.com.
Join us for a day dedicated to speaking up for animals in Sacramento!
Join companion animal advocates from across the state for a day of action at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. We invite you to join us on March 3rd to advocate for pets and their people and meet with legislators. This will be an energizing and impactful experience for everyone.
The day will begin at 9:00 AM at Westminster Church near the State Capitol, with great speakers and important directions for the day. When the program wraps, the group will walk to the Capitol to meet with legislators and their staff in the legislative office building. Event organizers will set up the meetings and provide talking points on current legislation. You may not meet directly with your own legislator, but organizers will do their best. You will be scheduled for 3–4 meetings with legislators or their aides to advocate for key animal welfare bills.
Your privacy is important to us. By registering for this event, your information will not be added to any mailing lists or shared with other organizations.
When you register, there will be an option to order a boxed lunch for pick up in the legislative office building - or you can get lunch on your own at a nearby dining establishment.
FAQs
- Where is the best place to park?
We recommend reserving spots in advance through SacPark or apps like SpotHero to reduce day-of stress. Metered street parking is available around N, O, 13th, and 14th Streets (use ParkMobile for easy payment), but those spots are hard to come by. The garages and lots are likely better options.
