Animal Heads, 2-day Clay Workshop, Ages 9-16

Animal Heads: Clay Worskhop w/Michelle Solorzano*

Join ceramic artist Michelle Solorzano for a fun and hands-on two-day workshop exploring
animal forms in clay. Participants will learn how to construct a hollow sculpture using slab and
coil-building techniques. Using reference images and sketches showing the front, side, and back
views of your chosen animal, you'll translate your 2D ideas into dynamic 3D forms.

In addition to building, students will create their own sprig molds—small, reusable decorative
elements that can be used to add texture and embellishments to the surface of their sculptures.

This class meets from 10am-2pm, on July 12 & 13, in the AMOCA Ceramics Studio

Class fee includes materials, firings, and a light snack.  

*Note: This class needs a minimum number of students in order to run. If enrollment doesn't meet the minimum by the morning of Friday, July 11, we'll let you know; tickets will be refunded in the case of cancellation.

Things to Know:

• This class is for ages 9-16

• Refunds are not allowed after the class begins. Refunds requested during the week prior to the start of the class will be honored at 50%. If you would like to request a refund, email education@amoca.org.
