Welcome to AniSS, or Anime Song Sydney, Volume 4, our next truly stacked mainline Anikura event. Following on from our last event, this nights party will instead be entirely focused on music from anime and other otaku fandoms, such as touhou, vocaloid, j-pop and rhythm games (list not exhaustive). This next event is our first year from our hard Volume 1 launch, and also DJ Retort's birthday is the next day, and so we have gone with the birthday theme (from memory, I think a few other DJs have a birthday around that time too). For those that don't speak Japanese yet (it's okay, I don't really either 😂), the title essentially translates roughly to Happy Birthday.

If you've never attended an Anikura before and want to know what it is: The word Anikura is an portmanteau of the words Anime and Nightclub, so I guess, in English, it'd be like AnimeClub. In Japan, it refers more to a place than a genre, that is any club that focuses on anime music, and so it can often encapsulate different kinds of vibes. For us, we aim to capture a feeling of an event that'd be hosted in clubs such as Mogra, IV and Raizeen, so if you've attended or seen any of those clubs, then you'd have a kind of understanding of the feeling we're going for.

Start and End times may vary on the actual day, though if it does, it's likely to finish later rather than earlier. This section will be updated closer to the event date with more solid times.

Scruffy Murphy's Irish Bar is right across from World Square, just outside of China Town. You can take the Light Rail which stops around one street away, or, walk from either Central Station or Town Hall station in about 5mins. We will be hosting the event in the downstairs area.
