Darwin based contemporary artist Anna Reynolds warmly welcomes you to the opening of her exhibition event in Queenscliff at Eve and the Serpent Gallery.
The exhibition of figurative sculpture, unique prints and handmade textile bring together a visual language of Reynolds own symbols and motif that explores the myth and metaphor of oceanic fish woman and the quirky notion of reverse mermaids.
Cleverly crafted with needlework and embroidery from the waste of her own textile production are three expressive sculptures accompanying a series of wood block print on handmade paper and distinctive wearable art made from natural fibre and salvaged fabrics.
Reynolds whimsical imagination and slow approach to making champions a unique and reckless printing technique, the handwoven and handmade textiles of India, along with salvaged and found materials.
Reserve your place in a series of summer workshops where you can create your own fabric waste sculpture, fashion wearable art using salvaged textiles, explore simple print making on textiles, or simply have some fun getting loose with collage, painting and drawing.
