Event description

Join us for this year’s Annual Meeting, where CHS members will gather at 6:30pm. to review highlights from the past year and preview our goals for 2026. Following the meeting at 7pm, the public is invited to a special program presented by Bob Hunter, Vice President of CHS, author, and longtime sports columnist. In recognition of the 75th anniversary of the legendary 1950 “Snow Bowl” between Ohio State and Michigan, Hunter will explore one of the most storied moments in Ohio sports history.

He’ll recount how, before, during, and after the game, conditions were nothing short of brutal; temperatures plunged to 10 degrees, winds gusted at nearly 30 miles per hour, and snow fell at two inches per hour. Snowbanks lined the field, yard lines vanished beneath the drifts, and at times even the goal posts disappeared from sight.

Whether you’re a football fan or simply love a good story, this look back at the Snow Bowl’s 75th anniversary is sure to fascinate.

In addition, Bob Hunter will have copies of his book Saint Woody: The History and Fanaticism of Ohio State Football, which includes a chapter on the Snow Bowl, available for sale and signing. It’s a great opportunity to pick up a gift just in time for the holidays!

Light refreshments will be served!

Free Parking: A dedicated surface lot is available around the building for attendees.

Tickets are free, and the program is open to all, but reservations are required by 7pm Friday, November 7th.
