SA Community Growing Conference 2026 🌱

Join Community Gardens Australia, Grow It Local and Permaculture Australia for the SA Community Growing Conference on Saturday 3 October, 10am–3pm at Holdfast Bay Community Centre, Hove.

Come together with community gardeners, volunteers, local food growers and sustainability enthusiasts for a day of practical learning, fresh ideas and great connections. Whether you’re involved in an established community garden, helping get a new one off the ground, or simply passionate about growing food and stronger communities, everyone is welcome.

The day will begin with a Welcome to Country before diving into a fantastic program:

🤝 Emily Gray-Bugg: Growing Community – Social Permaculture
🥕 Steve Hoepfner: The Secrets to Garden Productivity
🏳️‍🌈 The Queer Society: Building Inclusive Gardens – Wicking Bed Building and Planting

There’ll also be a delicious lunch, plenty of time to meet other growers and swap ideas, and practical knowledge you can take straight back to your garden and community.

BYO Keep cup, water bottle and bag for goodies. We will also have a food swap table so bring along your excess produce to share with others.
