    Invitation-

    Survival Day 2023

All Australians are invited to come along to the Benarrawa Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Solidarity Group’s local acknowledgement of Survival Day, January 26, 2023, for a short ceremony at the waters of the Benarrawa (Oxley Creek). On this day we celebrate the survival of the first peoples of this country, especially the people who lived, gathered, raised their families and cared for the waters and lands along the banks of the Brisbane River and Benarrawa (Oxley Creek).

    When: Thursday 26th January 2023

    Time: 7:15am for a 7:30am start

Where: Gather at the bronze canoe, near Simpson’s Playground, end of Graceville Avenue, Graceville

What to bring: Bring your clap sticks, a hat, water, a rug to sit on or folding chairs, native flowers to be cast into the river as part of ceremony, your own keep cup/mug and a small plate of food with tongs that can easily be served for shared breaky. We will be observing any Covid-19 restrictions and will have masks available.

    ALL WELCOME!
