Another a cappella night! w' Andsome Friends
Description
Andsome Friends is an Australian a cappella group formed in Sydney by Miguel Heatwole in 2009 to record and perform his original vocal compositions and arrangements. That singing supplies answers to some of the important philosophical questions of our time. How many medieval TV themes from popular culture may be sung simultaneously? What would Palestrina have written for the Hunters And Collectors? Is it appropriate to sing Irish slip jigs with Australian words? The songs are contemporary but there is a good measure of the past in our sound. Our fugue about environmental waste minimisation is unashamedly Baroque. https://miguelheatwole.com/index.php/andsome-friendsEcopella:
Warning! May cause harmony to the environment! Passionate, satirical and creative, this environmental choir has been spreading its a cappella manifesto since 1998. Ecopella's sense of fun fills each performance with positive and satirical messages. Even when the mood becomes serious the beauty and solemnity of the music uplifts the listener.
Maltby Moore Heatwole are a brand new trio of traditional singers who've sung together for ages. Huh? What we mean is that we've been in the same groups and harmonised in many a singing session, but this will be our first gig with just the three of us. We formed in response to an invitation to present protest and labour movement songs at the Maleny Folk Festival later this year. We are looking forward to showing Sydney what we've gotten ready!
