Ant mask workshop

An enormous ant mask is the most practical wardrobe piece a party animal can wish for.

Join us at Dear Diary Coffee to make masks together. The photos below show a big ol' bird mask. We'll be using the same method to make our ant masks.

Why ants? Because The Secret Show is animal themed this year, with an emphasis on ants.

Once you've learned the sacred art of paper mache mask making, we encourage you to channel this skill into making masks for all your friends! After all, costumes are encouraged at The Secret Show.

Free, but you'll need materials

This workshop is totally free, but you'll have to bring your own materials:

• BIG beach ball. Like, the 24" one.

• Paper. Ideally, recycled stuff.

• Glue. At least one full bottle.

• Paint. Find a big bottle of acrylic craft paint or even latex house paint. It's okay to buy the cheap stuff. One color is good enough.

• Scissors or a knife (you'll need to cut eyeball holes)

• A roll of window screen mesh that's easy to cut
