Antena Philharmonic Orquestra - CHILE
Description
There are orchestras that play music. And there are orchestras that transform lives.
The Antena Philharmonic Orchestra (OFA) is the latter.
Born in 2007 in the heart of the Antena district of La Serena, the OFA emerged as part of the Pedro Aguirre Cerda Music Academy (PAC) — not within the halls of an elite conservatory or a privileged institution, but from the raw strength of talent, dedication and the collective determination of young musicians who decided that excellence has no postal address. From its very first rehearsals, a clear vision guided every note: music as a tool for transformation, as a language of identity, as an open door to the world.
Under the visionary baton of Maestro Daniel Flores Bennett, the OFA forged a sound entirely its own — disciplined, sensitive and profoundly human. With more than two decades of formative history, the orchestra has built a repertoire as diverse as it is ambitious, moving with equal mastery from the great universal classics to symphonic celebrations of contemporary popular culture. Spectacular productions such as Star Wars Symphonic, The Lord of the Rings Symphonic, Harry Potter Symphonic, Studio Ghibli Symphonic and The Legend of Zelda Symphonic have proven that orchestral music knows no generational boundaries — and that the OFA knows exactly how to speak to every audience.
But it was in 2025 that the story of the OFA reached its most luminous peak.
At the XI World Orchestra Festival, the Antena Philharmonic Orchestra made history by becoming the first Chilean orchestra ever to perform in the legendary Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna — one of the most hallowed venues in the classical music world, the very same stage that has echoed with the voices of the greatest musicians of all time. To stand on that stage was already history. What followed was glory.
The OFA did not merely perform — they swept the competition. Four first-place awards in fundamental categories: Audience Ovation, Contemporary Music Performance, Mixed Orchestra and Festival Direction. Maestro Daniel Flores Bennett was honoured as the Best Director of the Festival. And as the crowning achievement of a performance that left the European music world speechless, the orchestra received a coveted invitation to the Festival's Artistic Committee.
From the streets of the Antena district to the Golden Hall of Vienna — the Antena Philharmonic Orchestra is not merely a story about music. It is a story about what happens when a community believes in its young people, when a conductor believes in his orchestra, and when an orchestra dares to believe in itself before the entire world.
The OFA does not play to impress. It plays to transform.
