Event description
Presale tickets now closed, but tickets at the door!
The Anticlinal Fold returns to the Coolroom again this Summer for another big evening of modern jazz and song. This event will include several world premieres of new music from the band’s pianist and songwriter, Jem Challender — winner of the Australian Songwriters Competition. The rhythm section will once again feature the stunning Ben Gibbons (The Waifs) on bass. Bendigo-based percussionist and drummer, Aaron Light (Twelve Tone Diamonds) will be on Drums. Plus a surprise appearance from local violinist and daughter of Jeremy, Thomasina Challender.,
The band are extremely pleased to welcome Jo Huf to The Fold. Jo is a Castlemaine-based guitarist and singer, and a Brazilian music wiz. Jo has featured in Triple J’s Unearthed and is back at the Northern after a sell-out show last November where she presented an unforgettable evening of Bossa Nova.
Expect plenty of latin inspired tunes, swinging standards, plus a handful of brand new Jazz compositions from one of the region’s most progressive and popular Jazz ensembles. Tickets are selling fast so make sure you fold this event into your plans for the January long weekend.
