ANU Multimedia Meet Up - Aug 2026

An invitation to ANU education support staff, academics, multimedia creators and professional staff interested in multimedia, content creation and innovative approaches to teaching and communication.

Building on our first meet up for 2026, this edition will get us out and about again to hear about current projects, share practical ideas and explore some of the multimedia and teaching spaces available across ANU.

We'll start at the Lightboard & Podcast Studio in the Skaidrite Darius Building, with two short presentations:

The Story Room – content creation at ANU
Chris from The Story Room project will introduce some of the work they are doing around content creation at ANU. As well as sharing what they have been developing, they'll bring some of the questions they are currently exploring to the group – providing an opportunity for discussion and exchange with others working in this space.

Universal Design for Learning + multimedia
Anh Tran from our team will give a short presentation looking at Universal Design for Learning, with some practical tips and considerations for creating multimedia content that works for a diverse range of learners.

From there, we'll head two floors down to the ANU Escape Room, where Bernardo Nunes will show us around and talk about how the space came about, how it has been used in teaching, and what has been learned from bringing game-based and collaborative learning into the classroom.

Finally, we'll take a short walk across campus to the Peter Baume Building, where Nic Vevers will give us a look inside the Science Multimedia Studio. We mentioned this space at our previous meetup, so this time we'll actually get a chance to see it in action and hear about the kinds of science and research content being created there.

ABOUT THE ANU MULTIMEDIA MEET UP

These events aim to foster networking, collaboration and knowledge-sharing across ANU between people working with multimedia, education, communications, marketing, learning design and content creation.

You don't need to be a multimedia specialist to attend. We're particularly keen to connect people who are creating content, supporting educators, experimenting with new approaches, or simply interested in seeing what other people across ANU are doing.

The meet ups are associated with the ANU Multimedia Exchange Teams community and are intended to be an evolving community of practice – a place to share work, ask questions, find collaborators and discover some of the people, projects and spaces that already exist across the University.
