    Event description

Join us at the 2024 ANU Research Infrastructure Expo for an exciting discovery of the state-of-the-art research infrastructure underpinning research excellence!

    About the Expo

ANU hosts a world-leading landscape of research infrastructure. This ranges from world-class physical research facilities and networks of leading expertise, to highly skilled lab technicians and dedicated research data service teams. The 2024 Research Infrastructure Expo is an exciting opportunity for university staff, researchers, students, government and industry partners to discover the diverse capabilities and engage with the amazing work happening in the ANU research infrastructure ecosystem.

    Who's welcome?

The Expo is open to all - whether you are a member of the ANU community, a current or potential collaborator, or simply an interested observer - we welcome you all to join us and explore the diversity and scope of our research infrastructure and be inspired!

Special Feature: 3PM at the Expo, Live from the Japan Trench: drilling into the Earth's fault zone responsible for the devastating 2011 Japan quake and tsunami. Join us at the ANZIC table for a tour of the specialised deep-sea drilling vessel Chiyku as it gathers samples of rock and sediment from nearly a kilometre below the seafloor (and beneath 7 km of water!). ANZIC Director, Dr Ron Hackney, is on board, analysing the core samples to better understand how deadly earthquakes and tsunamis are generated.
