Sat, 22 Nov, 1pm - Mon, 24 Nov, 1pm AWST

Event description

Join bird experts Boyd Wykes and members of Owl Friendly Margaret River as they showcase some of the birdwatching highlights of the Margaret River region.

This multi-day excursion has a packed itinerary crafted by local knowledge and connections, to ensure you get the most out of your visit to one of WA's nature hotspots.

Glenbrook Country Retreat will be the base of activities for the trip, and attendees are encouraged to book one of the varied accommodation options on site, see details below.

Plan to arrive just after lunchtime on Saturday, and let your local guides take the lead. Weather dependent, your itinerary will take you birdwatching at coastal and forest hotspots. Your hosts have negotiated in-kind support that will get you exploring the birds at local lighthouses, meeting birds of prey at Capes Raptor Centre and more.

This being organised by Owl Friendly Margaret River, there will be opportunities for nightstalks, including potentially local Masked Owls, as well as other native birds and mammals.

The excursion fee covers contribution to one shared dinner, but attendees must organise their own transport, accommodation, and food.

The excursion will be based at Glenbrook Country Retreat, a 78ha environmentally focused chalet and camping property 5km South of the Margaret River town.
