AOC Fieldtrip: Victoria Dam
Event description
Let expert guides from the BirdLife WA branch show you around one of Perth’s best local birding spots. Victoria Dam, a short distance out of Perth in the Perth Hills is a regular favourite of WA birders, being one of the best locations to reliably see many of our WA endemic bird species – including Western Spinebills, Western Rosellas and White-breasted Robins. All three southwest black-cockatoo species are also regularly recorded here. A fantastic spot to visit to immerse yourself in Western Australia’s unique wildlife.
Be prepared for a morning out wandering around – on dirt and gravel tracks, including some steps and steep inclines. Bring appropriate footwear, headwear and water. The delightful WA jarrah forest awaits!
Note: Transport to and from this location is not included as part of the fieldtrip ticket cost, and delegates will have to make their own way there and back. Conference organisers encourage delegates to carpool or coordinate group transport. Opportunities to coordinate transport will be made during the AOC, via a noticeboard at the conference venue.
