Step into the world of OUTSIDE IN, a bold, funny and heartfelt new musical that dives inside the minds of today’s teenagers and the emotions they try to hide behind the image they show the world.
Set in the lead up to the Formal, OUTSIDE IN follows a group of teens navigating friendship, pressure, popularity, identity and the exhausting performance of growing up in a world where everybody feels watched. Beneath the filters, confidence and carefully curated versions of themselves are the inner voices shaping every choice, every fear and every connection.
At the heart of the story is Ruby and Lumi, childhood best friends who once promised they would experience formal together. As social pressure, changing friendships and the need to fit in begin pulling them apart, both girls are forced to confront who they’ve become and whether it’s possible to find their way back to themselves and each other.
Featuring an electrifying soundtrack packed with contemporary hits, explosive dance numbers, humour, emotional honesty and moments every teen and parent will recognise, OUTSIDE IN is a powerful and uplifting celebration of friendship, self-discovery and learning that nobody has life completely figured out.
Perfect for families, teens and musical theatre lovers, this exciting new production shines a spotlight on the inner chaos, vulnerability and courage that connects us all.
