Description

APEN Networking Evening 2026

Connecting, Reflecting and Looking Ahead

Join the Australian Pasifika Educators Network (APEN) for an evening of connection, conversation and reflection as we bring together Pacific educators, community leaders, education partners, members and supporters.

As 2026 draws to a close, this gathering provides an opportunity to reconnect, celebrate the work undertaken across our network and share conversations about the future of Pacific education in Australia. Grounded in the Pacific values of connection, relationships and talanoa, the evening will provide a welcoming space to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities for collaboration.

What to expect

Reflecting on APEN's journey in 2026

Hear about APEN's activities, achievements, partnerships and advocacy throughout the year, including our work supporting Pacific educators and communities.

Pacific Studies and curriculum engagement

Learn about APEN's ongoing engagement with the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and efforts to strengthen the recognition of Pacific histories, cultures, knowledge and perspectives in Australian education.

COP31: Voices Across the Water – Moana Women Rising

Hear reflections from APEN's delegation to COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, and the experiences of Pacific women educators from Samoa and Tuvalu shared through the Moana Women Rising anthology. This conversation will explore the importance of Pacific voices in international climate discussions and the connections between climate change, education and our communities.

Looking ahead

Learn about APEN's upcoming initiatives, opportunities to get involved and our forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

Who should attend?

We warmly welcome Pacific educators, researchers, students, community leaders, education professionals, organisations and anyone interested in supporting Pacific education and strengthening connections across our communities.

Whether you have been involved with APEN for some time or are connecting with us for the first time, we would love to see you there.

Come along, connect with others and be part of the conversation about where we go next.

We look forward to welcoming you!
