Event description

Aphasia Victoria are excited to host an event to celebrate and support the aphasia community.

We will be celebrating our recent 'Conversation, Connection, Community' campaign videos, which provides communication tips on how to better support those living with aphasia.

This event is also an opportunity to meet other people with aphasia, carers, speech pathologists and academics working in the aphasia space.

To ensure this event is as accessible as possible, we have a 'pay what you can' option for tickets.

Free tickets are available for people with aphasia and their carers.

We request that others wishing to attend view their ticket purchase as a donation to Aphasia Victoria which support us in covering the cost of hosting this event.

Lauren graduated from LaTrobe University with a Master of Speech Pathology. She has worked as a speech pathologist in rehabilitation hospitals and community therapy centres across Melbourne. She currently works at Epworth Rehabilitation in Richmond.

Throughout her clinical work as a speech pathologist Lauren has developed a keen interest in providing targeted treatment to people with aphasia and in connecting people with aphasia to community groups and organisations.

Lauren is also passionate about raising awareness of aphasia, both within the medical profession and more widely in the community. Together with her rehabilitation colleagues she has travelled to countries including Pakistan, Nigeria, Morocco and Saudi Arabia to provide education and training to health professionals on the management of acquired communication disorders (like aphasia) in adults.
