Appin (Part) and North Appin Precinct Proposal - community drop-in session

This community drop-in session provides an opportunity to speak with the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (the Department) about the planning process for the Appin (Part) Precinct and North Appin Precinct draft plans. These plans will shape how the area grows, and community feedback will help guide future development, land use, and infrastructure. 

There will be no formal presentation: this is your opportunity to speak with the Department and have your questions about the planning process answered. Please register for a free ticket to come along to the in-person session. It will be held at at Appin House, on Tuesday 23 September 2025, and you are welcome to drop-in anytime between 4pm to 6.30pm to talk to the team.

Appin (Part) Precinct

Walker Corporation has prepared a draft Development Control Plan and a draft Precinct Structure Plan for the Appin (Part) Precinct. 

The precinct was rezoned in December 2023 and will provide up to 12,900 new homes, including affordable housing, along with open space and local centres. 

The draft plans outline how future development applications will be assessed.

North Appin Precinct

Ingham Property Group has prepared a draft planning proposal, a draft Development Control Plan and a draft Precinct Structure Plan for North Appin Precinct. 

The planning proposal aims to rezone land to deliver up to 3,000 new homes, including affordable housing, a local centre with shops and services, a school site, and connected green spaces.
