Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training - this workshop prepares participants to provide suicide-first aid. ASIST is an internationally recognised training program where participants learn how to identify people with thoughts of suicide, understand how beliefs and attitudes can affect suicide intervention and a practical guide to doing suicide interventions through the Pathways for Assisting Life (PAL) model.

Identify people who have thoughts of suicide.
Understand how beliefs and attitudes can affect suicide interventions.
Understand a person at risk’s story about suicide and recognise turning points
Conduct a safety assessment and develop a safe-for-now plan
Confirm the person at risk’s faith in the safe plan and their intent to follow it through

ASIST is a two-day workshop that runs from 9am until 5pm both days
