Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Adelaide December 2026

Would you know what to do if someone told you they were thinking about suicide?

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is a globally recognised, evidence-based suicide intervention workshop that equips participants with the practical skills and confidence to safely intervene when someone may be at risk of suicide.

Over two highly interactive days, participants learn to:

·         Recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide.

·         Start a safe and supportive conversation about suicide.

·         Assess immediate suicide risk.

·         Work collaboratively with the person to develop a plan that supports their immediate safety.

·         Connect the person with appropriate supports and resources.

Participants learn through presentations, group discussion, realistic simulations and practical skills practice, building the confidence to intervene safely and effectively when it matters most.

The workshop is suitable for anyone aged 16 years and over, with no previous training or experience required.

Course information

·         Duration: Two full days (8:30 am – 4:30 pm). Attendance on both days is required.

·         Eligibility: Anyone aged 16 years and over.

·         Prerequisites: None.

Morning tea provided.

Cost

The course fee is $300 + GST.

Participants with a current CITB Registration Number may be eligible to attend at no cost through CITB funding. Your CITB Registration Number must be provided during registration.

·         Attendance on both days is required to successfully complete the workshop.
