Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) - Baringa Community Centre
Event description
ASIST is a two-day interactive workshop which teaches participants to recognize someone who may have thoughts of suicide and to work alongside them to create a plan supporting their safety for now. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, it can be learned and used by anyone.
We acknowledge Living Works for their range of best practice suicide prevention training, including ASIST.
ASIST is a resource for the whole community. It can be applied in many settings: with family, friends, co-workers and teammates as well as in formal care-giving roles.
Maximum of 15 participants on this occasion. To contain costs, please bring simple lunch to share on both days.
Participants must be 18 years and older. If you are younger than 18 years please email training.events@calcomm.org.au to discuss.
This training is also not recommended if you are recently bereaved.
*****Please note that, for cost containment and commitment purposes, we have a non-refund policy.
