When we communicate clearly and completely, we’re able to share and hear + be understood and understand ~ in ways that invite and create collaboration and connection. When we’ve mastered these skills, we’re also able to recognize and own when we’re not using them.

In this class, we'll focus on two related skills: Appreciating and Seeing Others as Allies. They both require creativity, imagination, compassion, vulnerability, optimism and a willingness to connect. They each open up the field for collaboration and co-creation.

Imagine someone with whom there is messiness in the relationship. If you can't appreciate aspects of them and how they show up, you'll be caught up in being critical (even if only in your head). If you only see them as a competitor or foe, chances are you won't ever imagine what's possible if you see them as your ally.
