L’expérience utilisateurs (UX) est encore une notion très récente dans l’industrie du jeu vidéo. Elle présente des défis spécifiques considérant que les jeux vidéo ne sont pas des outils et qu'ils doivent être amusants et engageants. Ancienne directrice UX chez Epic Games avec plus de 15 ans d’expérience dans l’industrie du jeu, Celia Hodent expliquera le cadre de travail UX qu’elle a développé et notamment utilisé sur Fortnite. Après avoir expliqué les principales limites du cerveau à prendre en compte, la présentation abordera les éléments importants qui participent au succès d'un jeu et qui peuvent également être appliqués à n'importe quel produit, application ou service. La présentation terminera avec une introduction aux enjeux éthiques dans les jeux vidéo.

La conférence se déroulera en français, mais le matériel visuel sera en anglais. La période de questions pourra se dérouler dans les deux langues, au besoin.

The user experience (UX) is still a very recent notion in the video game industry. It presents specific challenges considering that video games are not tools and they must be fun and engaging. Former UX director at Epic Games with over 15 years of experience in the game industry, Celia Hodent will explain the UX framework she has developed and notably used on Fortnite. After explaining the main limitations of the brain to consider, the presentation will address the important elements that contribute to the success of a game and that can also be applied to any product, application, or service. The presentation will end with an introduction to ethical issues in video games.

The conference will be conducted in French, but the visual material will be in English. The Q&A session can be conducted in both languages as needed.
