Event description

We are proud to announce the first annual AppSec New Zealand Conference (formerly known as OWASP New Zealand Day), to be held at the University of Auckland on Friday and Saturday, February 12-13, 2021.

This event is a two-day conference dedicated to information security, with an emphasis on secure architecture and development techniques to help Kiwi developers build more secure applications.

This year, we'll have two refereed presentation tracks, focusing primarily on Introductory/Management topics and deeper Technical topics, respectively. In addition, we are introducing a Demo/Breakout, with tool demonstrations and presentations by our Premier Sponsors and other breakout meetings as organised.

Who is it for?

  • Web Developers
  • Security Professionals and Enthusiasts
  • Program and Project Managers
  • Business Analysts
  • Requirements Analysts
  • Software Testers

The conference will have two tracks running concurrently on both Friday and Saturday:

Stream One:

  • Introductory Topics
  • Program Management, Policy, Compliance, Risk Management

Stream Two:

  • Technical Topics

The entire conference - including both main tracks and some of the activities in the Demo/Breakout room - will be live streamed. To view the live stream, you can visit our Live Event Portal any time during the conference.

After the conference, recordings of presentations will be posted on the OWASP New Zealand Chapter's YouTube channel.
