April School Holidays at the MDC with Mona Litta Art

Get Ready for a Day of Fun, Learning, and Adventure inside the Marine Discovery Centre in Henley Beach, followed by a Sustainable Print Making workshop with Mona Litta Art. We invite you to attend both sessions for just $20 per child. Alternatively, you can choose to attend one session.
Session 1: 12pm - 1.30pm - Marine Discovery Centre activities
We'll have educational and hands-on activities, feeding local marine species, virtual reality experiences, nd more.
Join the team at the Marine Discovery Centre for a morning of interactive fun, marine-based learning
* Aquariums featuring local South Australian marine creatures such as the Big-Bellied Seahorses, Ornate Cowfish, Porcupine Fish, native Oysters, Murray River Turtle, Yabbies and more
* Virtual Reality Headsets giving you the opportunity to explore under the sea without getting wet. Underwater virtual reality experiences include Australian Sea Lions, Leafy Seadragons, swimming under the Henley Beach Jetty, and Google Expeditions to the Great Barrier Reef
* Kaurna Education Room (The Kaurna Meyunna Wodli) is an interactive room that highlights the relationship that Kaurna people have with the Adelaide Plains and the coast.
* Interactive models featuring our brand new diving games, brand new sounds of the ocean interactive, brand new beachcombing game plus oceanography, climate change, marine debris, marine habitats, touchscreens, sustainable fishing, stormwater, beachcombing, and get hands-on with our microscopes and Discovery Dive game.
* Each child will receive a brand new beachcombing sheet to take home
Session 2: 1.30pm - 3pm - Be a Print-Making Scientist with Mona Litta Art
Be a Print-Making Scientist with Mona Litta Art Join in a Sustainable Print-making Workshop, blending art and marine science. Create prints that champion the Port Jackson Shark, creating a masterpiece to take home and more! Gain scientific insights into art materials and our coastal eco-system, fostering sustainable practices.
* Connect with other curious children, explore local citizen-science opportunities, and leave with both art and newfound knowledge!
* Guided workshop with materials included
* Children will be able to take home the artwork pieces they have created
* Please note: Tickets are only required for children, one parent per child (multiple children are allowed though). Parents must order their ticket (free of charge) when purchasing tickets for children. Parents must stay with children throughout the session. Children under 3 years of age are free of charge when attending with a paying child
