April School Holidays Filmbites Workshops 2025

Filmbites April School Holiday Workshops are here! (And all across Perth!) 

These April School Holidays we are hopping around Perth to make sure you can attend no matter how North or South you live. Junior Screen Acting will travel to Bulter, Malaga and Rockingham as well as Make a Movie in Butler and Malaga. Please make sure you check the address for the workshop you are booking!

Green Screen  

Monday 14th of April, 10am - 3pm. Filmbites 6/31 Oxleigh Drive Malaga. Ages 10 - 17. Doors open at 9:45am and close at 3:15pm

Be a part of both the crew and cast by devising and filming short scenes in Filmbites’ very own green screen studio. Then, head into the computer lab to learn, hands-on, how to add your very own special effects from industry professionals.

Makeup SFX

Tuesday 15th of April, 11am - 1pm. Filmbites, 6/31 Oxleigh Drive Malaga. Ages 10 - 17. Doors open at 10:45am and close at 1:15pm.

Taught by industry professional Stephanie Davis, learn the technical skills of Makeup SFX through the fun of doing it! 

*Warning: If you are not a fan of blood and wounds this workshop is not for you! 

Game Design 

Tuesday 15th of April, 10am - 3pm. Filmbites 6/31 Oxleigh Drive Malaga. Ages 8 - 12. Doors open at 9:45am and close at 3:15pm

Why just play games when you can learn how to make them. In this workshop you’ll learn how to make 3 different types of games, using Gamemaker software, then get to play each others games. Super fun day for gamers!

Animation

Wednesday 16th of April, 10am - 3pm. Filmbites, 6/31 Oxleigh Drive Malaga. Ages 8 - 12. Doors open at 9:45am and close at 3:15pm

 Learn the interface and navigation for Tahoma2D, a free software you can learn to use to create super fun animations. This is an exceptional skill to learn if you ever wish to work in the growing entertainment, content creation and resources industries.

Junior Screen Acting

Wednesday 16th of April, 10am - 3pm. Butler Community Centre, 55 Kingsbridge Blvd, Butler. Ages 8 - 12. Doors open at 9:45am and close at 3:15pm

Thursday 17th of April, 10am - 3pm. Filmbites, 6/31 Oxleigh Drive Malaga. Ages 8 - 12. Doors open at 9:45am and close at 3:15pm

Thursday 17th of April, 10am - 3pm. Hillman Hall, 29 Unnaro St, Hillman. Ages 8 - 12. Doors open at 9:45am and close at 3:15pm

This workshop is an introduction to acting in front of the camera! If you want to learn the important differences between stage and screen acting through creating your own scene this workshop is for you!

Make a Movie

Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th of April; 10am - 3pm. Filmbites 6/31 Oxleigh Drive Malaga. Ages 10 - 17. Doors open at 9:45am and close at 3:15pm daily.

Learn the ins and outs of Filmmaking in this three day workshop. All participants are hands on in camera equipment, directing, acting and more! At the end of the three days participants will walk away with their own group film as well as the skills to plan, film and edit a short film.
