ARC CCeMMP EduWeek: How and when to use bibliometrics

Monash Library will be providing a workshop on how and when to use bibliometrics. Whether you are applying for an award, job, promotion, fellowship, grants or becoming a scientific society member, it is essential to be abreast of what bibliometric tools are available to you and how to use them effectively for the purpose that you are applying for. In this hands-on workshop, the team will introduce and run through the common bibliometric tools available, how to use them, and when to use them.
Mario Sos is a Liaison Librarian at Monash University. There he is aligned with the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences as well as the Faculty of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. His role involves providing consultation services to PhD candidates and the broader research community to aid in evidence synthesis as well as guidance on the use of bibliometric tools for research impact.
Penny Presta is a Liaison Librarian supporting the students and staff in the faculties of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences, and Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash. Penny’s role includes providing instruction and expert advice on search strategies for systematic reviews, as well as on searching a range of scholarly and bibliometric databases.
