ARC Workshops 2024: Supporting academics to secure ARC funding

Event description

In 2024, the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) is organising two workshops to support academics position themselves for ARC funding. Whether you are planning to apply for funding this year or in future, these workshops will demystify the ARC process and help you to develop the knowledge and skills to design and secure funding for impactful research from a range of sources. The workshops will be led by Prof. Denise Meredith from OutsideOpinion.

ARC Initiation Workshop: Thursday 29 August (9.30am-2.30pm)

This 5-hour workshop, designed for researchers who are relatively new to the ARC process, will include an engaging and interactive introduction to strategies for ARC success. Through small group tasks and facilitated discussions, this workshop will introduce participants to the various ARC schemes and assessment processes, help them consider the right time to apply, and guide them through the process of designing and pitching a successful application.

ARC Advancement Workshop: Friday 30 August (9.30am-2.30pm)

This 5-hour workshop is designed for researchers who are experienced with the ARC process but who are facing strategic choices. Through interactive discussions and facilitated exercises, the workshop will focus on scaling up research and pathways to success for larger funding bids (including Centres of Excellence), effective planning and communication strategies, and understanding the changing aims, criteria and expectations of various schemes and multidisciplinary assessment panels.
