This event is sold out. There is both seated and standing space available.

Arrive from 1:45pm for a 2pm start.

Please note there are no food or drinks available to purchase at this launch. There is a small kitchenette space with tea, coffee and water available. There is a 7/11 nearby and other restaurants and bars in Federation Square if you wish to purchase food or drinks before or after the event.

The event is at a venue space upstairs at Koorie Heritage Trust. The venue is accessible by public transport (train and tram). The closest Metro train station is Flinders Street Station. Once you enter the venue, continue up the escalator and you will arrive at the event space. If you require the lift, the staff in the gift shop area can assist with access to this.

The proceedings will be approximately 90min in duration with no intermission. You are welcome to use the restroom and kitchenette space at any point during the event. The content of the readings and the panel may be confronting and we encourage you to take breaks if and when you need.

We encourage the wearing of masks indoors, especially when unable to distance, however this is not mandatory. We also ask that if you are feeling ill and have covid symptoms you refrain from attending - refunds are available if needed.

Having spent almost two years in Adelaide Women’s Prison and a total of 18 months on Home Detention, Tabitha Lean uses her lived prison experience to argue that the criminal punishment system is a brutal, and too often deadly, colonial frontier for her people.The edition features writing about the prison system and its impacts on First Nations people; how incarceration affects young people and the children of people with lived experience; a story from a writer who was locked in detention; an image essay from Haitian photographer Zarita Zevallos; a Q&A with abolition activist Debbie Kilroy; a speech from Aunty Vickie Roach and more.
