Join local author Dimity Mortensen as she discusses her biography, Archibald Mosman: The Field of the Faithful Man.

Archibald Mosman: The Field of the Faithful Man is the first biography of the suburb of Mosman’s namesake and chronicles his life as a wealthy merchantman, whaler, grazier and vast landholder.
Dimity will share a presentation of rare maps, drawings and images found during her research. She will talk about Archibald Mosman's personal and professional connection to The Rocks in Sydney. She will shed light on little known facts about a very enigmatic and once controversial figure in our local history and his substantial connection to the Lower Northshore.

Dimity Mortensen was born and educated in Sydney. She lived in London for seven years, working at Christie’s Fine Art Auction House and travelling through the Middle East, Europe and Eastern Europe. She decided to return home to Australia to start her career as a writer, and has since been published in some of the top literary journals in Australia. Her previous publications include Love: A Parable Without a Moral and Reflections in a Stagnant Pool. Archibald Mosman: The Field of the Faithful Man is her first historical biography.
