Event description

Join Architecture with Pride for our second Queerchitecture tour on Gadi Country. Come along for an inside squizz of the new Inner West Pride Centre - queer youth organisation Twenty10's new home - and a House in Erskineville by Architect George.

Architect George's House in Erskineville is a home for an artist. A home that may intimately house one, and at other times a family of five. The project critiques the typical floor plan of a contemporary home. Rather than providing a 3-4 bedroom home, the design centres around a series of connected and flexible spaces that can be inhabited in multiple ways. Designed as an enfilade, the plan presents an interconnected group of rooms arranged in a row, with each room opening into the next. It is a sustainable home that adds very little, and removes even less.

Twenty10 are a LGBTQIA+ youth organisation offering mental health support programs, creative and digital programs, events, safe spaces, and specialist training across NSW to continue building a world where LGBTIQA+ people are secure, connected and celebrated. Having recently moved into the newly-opened Inner West Pride Centre in the old Newtown Town Hall, Twenty10 will lead operations of the new council space. This tour will take you inside the heritage building, and introduce you to the work Twenty10 does for our LGBTQIA+ community.

Your ticket fee covers a donation to Twenty10 and GiveOUT. First round at the pub is on us.
