Join the Metro Tunnel team on a walking tour of the new Arden Station on Saturday 30 August.

This is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the completion of major construction at Arden Station before the Metro Tunnel officially opens to passengers later this year!

Arden Station will be at the centre of a new employment and innovation precinct that will be home to thousands of jobs and new homes.

The station, near the corner of Arden and Laurens streets in North Melbourne, will be a sustainable transport hub just a few minutes’ walk from the North Melbourne Recreation Centre, Arden Street Oval and the Route 57 tram.

The station facade features a major artwork by Australian artist Abdul Abdullah, Come Together. The work celebrates the communities of Arden, connecting the past of Melbourne's west to its future.

Terms and Conditions

• Participation is at the sole discretion of the event organisers.

• Event tickets are non-transferrable.

• Participants must wear flat, fully enclosed shoes.

• Participants are to present their event ticket upon arrival.

• Entry will be from the allocated time, ticket holders can arrive up to 20 minutes after the allocated time.

• A maximum of four tickets can be registered.

• All participants must have been issued an individual ticket.

• Tours will proceed in the event of rain, if safe to do so. Due to timing and capacity constraints, no guarantee can be given that interrupted tours will be rescheduled on the day of the event.

• The project has strict safety and environmental management systems in place, however, as with any construction site, there is a range of inherent risks associated with access.

• Tour numbers are limited and each tour will last approximately 40 minutes.

• Photographs and video will be taken on the day by event staff. Images and footage taken may be used for post-event promotional purposes.

Getting to Arden Station

• Access to the Station will be via Laurens Street, Arden

• North Melbourne Station is a 10-minute walk from Arden Station.

• The Abbotsford St/Queensberry St #57 tram stop is a 6-minute walk from site.

Acknowledgement and agreement

I, the Visitor acknowledge and agree that:

• I am aged 18 years and over;

• I will be fully responsible for and actively supervise any child under the age of 16 attending the Arden Station site (“Site”) visit with me, and agree to these Terms and Conditions on their behalf;

• I will be fully responsible for any child above the age of 16 for whom I have booked a ticket to attend the Site visit and agree to these Terms and Conditions on their behalf;  

• there are risks associated with visiting and access to the Site, which is a construction site;

• I visit the Site solely at my own risk;

• to the extent permitted by law the Metro Tunnel Project Office and CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture shall not be liable for any accident, damage, loss, or death or injury arising from or in connection with my Site visit;

• at all times during my visit to the Site I will exercise a high level of care for my personal safety and the safety of others;

• open food or drinks or alcohol are not permitted in the Station;

• any material that could cause injury or harm to others such as glass, weapons or blades of any kind are not permitted;

• as a condition of entry I may be asked to present any bag for inspection to project or security personnel for any items not permitted on Site;

• smoking or vaping is not permitted on Site;  

• I will, at all times while I am present on the Site, stay within the designated areas of the tour; and

• I will, at all times, obey all directions of tour guides and other project personnel.

Release

I, the Visitor, release the Metro Tunnel Project Office and CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture from:

• all claims, actions and demands resulting from any accident, damage, loss, or death or injury occurring at the Arden Station site arising from or in connection with my visit to the Site, and

• all loss, cost, damage, liability or other detriment (whether direct or consequential) for which the Metro Tunnel Project Office or CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture may otherwise be liable, as a direct or indirect result of my visit to the Site.

Indemnity

I, the Visitor, indemnify and agree to keep indemnified the Metro Tunnel Project Office and CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture against all actions, claims, and/or demands made, and losses, damages, costs and expenses (whether direct or consequential) suffered or incurred by me or for the Metro Tunnel Project Office and CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture are or may be or become liable arising out of or in any way arising from or connected with my Site visit.
