UNAA Victoria's Young Professionals Network and the Queen Victoria Women's Centre (QVWC) will host this important panel discussion.

QVWC CEO Jo Porter will MC the event, which will canvass themes and issues contained within SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being and SDG: 5 Gender Equality.

Jo was formerly a theatre producer and consultant in not-for-profit and commercial theatre. She was the Co-Producer of Victoria’s inaugural Regional Centre for Culture 2018. Jo teaches Governance and Leadership in NIDA’s MFA in Cultural Leadership program and mentors several younger women who are emerging leaders in their fields.

>Joanna Brislane, Manager, Practice Systems, Our Watch

Joanna manages the organisation' team responsible for family violence prevention in workplaces, education and sports. Joanna has also spent half her career working on gender equality in an international development capacity, in the Pacific islands.

>Jessica Maxwell, Counsellor/Advocate and Primary Prevention Worker, CASA House

Jessica is a social worker with over 10 ten years’ experience in gender based violence. Her roles have ranged from crisis response, refuge and outreach work, to therapeutic work, and training and prevention. The dual roles in prevention and response contexts creates numerous opportunities for considering the intersections and differences in these two approaches to the issue of sexual assault. She has also completed a piece of research around international students’ experiences of sexual assault in Australia.

>Dr Lata Satyen, Senior Lecturer and Psychologist, Deakin University, has widespread professional and academic experience in the areas of intimate partner violence in migrants and non-migrants and the prevention and intervention of family violence in culturally diverse communities.
