Nonprofits often share goals, funders, audiences, and community priorities. That can make collaboration feel complicated, especially in an evolving landscape. In this session, we’ll talk honestly about the tension between collaboration and competition, why partnership matters now, and how nonprofit leaders can build relationships that strengthen their organizations and deepen impact.

In this session, we will explore:

Why collaboration matters now

Common barriers to collaboration

How strategic partnership strengthens readiness and impact

How to move beyond scarcity thinking and ‘grow the pie’

Event series: Tough but important conversations shaping the future of the nonprofit sector

Nonprofit work is changing, and leaders need space to ask the questions that do not always have easy answers. This event series creates room for candid, thoughtful conversations about how nonprofits can adapt, collaborate, and build stronger paths toward mission impact. Together, we will explore the challenges, opportunities, and new ideas shaping the future of our work and what nonprofit leaders can do now to prepare for what comes next.

This event series is offered in collaboration with the George H. Heyman, Jr. Program for Philanthropy and Fundraising within the NYU SPS Center for Global Affairs.
